9/5/2023 0 Comments Warbits apkThe reason I give it three stars is because it’s worse in all the areas it cannot directly copy (storyline, aesthetics and visual clarity), and the one area where it tries to innovate and improve upon the old formula with its HQ abilities, it mostly fails. Its core systems, such as its economy, unit balance and variety, mostly copy Advance Wars, which is a really solid system to copy. Now don’t get me wrong, Warbits is not a bad game. On stage 4-4, for instance, you have an ally who helps you against your foe- every unit your ally destroys does not count towards your Power score, making it literally impossible to earn top scores. ![]() even when it doesn’t make sense to do so. I don’t use the term lightly it’s not just that the units are almost the same, even the end-of-stage scoring system rates you on Power (% of enemies destroyed), Skill (% of your units that survived), and Speed. Devs, please create more games, or magically update this one, because bravo! Sincerely, thank you for this gem. I’m still giving it 5 stars though, because for a game that’s been around this long, it’s still super fun and looks great. I won’t drag this review on, because other reviewers have already praised it for its gameplay, visual style, music, dialogue, etc., etc., but DANG I love this game! The only super minor complaint I have is that it’s not full screen on my iPhone 11, and that once in a while little glitches will happen here and there, like charges flying off the screen upon earning them, and a few icons not lining up properly. I’ve played a lot of them, so please take that as a big compliment. It has been one of my favorite iOS games since it was released years ago, and has been one of my favorite strategy games in general. So what if I’m about 6 years late on this review? I started playing Warbits again recently and it hit me that I’ve never left an honest review for it. “looks so incredibly generic from the trailer.” ![]() “I haven't laughed at a game in a long time and this has touched my heart.” "Comforted a 4-year-old who was nervous on a flight." Warbits, a war simulator for a better tomorrow. If you’re a fan of the genre, you’re in for a treat.“Possibly the best online multiplayer game ever released for iOS.” Given that this is also a pay-once premium title, we reckon the only reason not to buy Warbits is if strategy games make you want to hurl your device into the heart of the sun. Pleasingly, the entire game also looks superb, from the dinky units that remain crisp and distinct on the iPhone, to the bleepy and colourful interface menus. Battles happen immediately, without cut-scenes, sometimes putting you in mind of a quickfire Civilization or mobile classic Outwitters. ![]() This is in many ways a tighter, more focussed game than Advance Wars, with an emphasis on speed. (You get up to two days to play a turn.) However, you can have multiple games running at any given time, and can also rope in the computer AI if you’re not keen on battling strangers but have no friends with taste (in the sense they don’t yet have Warbits installed).Ĭoncessions to mobile are few in number and all seem to benefit Warbits. The only downside to online battles is they can drag if you’re playing a laggard. In all, 40 maps are available, ranging from the fragmented frozen islands of Iceberg to the aptly named Knife Fight, a tiny arena that quickly forces opponents to square off. The idea of the campaign is to toughen you up for taking your skills and newfound knowledge about tomatoes online.
